“Black Taxi” — Built to Carry the Crew

Every drift operation needs a car capable of doing more than just putting down laps. Black Taxi is being built with a very specific mission in mind: get the whole crew to the drift track, and once there, make sure everyone gets a chance to go sideways.

The project is currently undergoing a complete transformation, with the original powerplant making way for a fully built 5.3-liter LS engine designed specifically for boost. Feeding that combination will be a 78/75 turbocharger, paired with our custom-fabricated hot side and turbo piping to create a setup designed around making serious power while keeping the installation purpose-built for the chassis.

Once the boost starts building, that power will be sent through a T56 Magnum transmission, giving Black Taxi the heavy-duty drivetrain needed to handle the demands of a turbocharged LS and the abuse that comes with life on the drift track.

Keeping everything working together will be a Holley Terminator Max ECU, providing the engine management and tuning capabilities necessary to control the boosted 5.3-liter combination.

There is still plenty of work ahead before Black Taxi is ready to earn its name, but the foundation is being laid for a machine capable of carrying the entire crew to the track and then putting on a show once it gets there.
The meter is still under construction, but it won’t be long before Black Taxi is ready to start picking up passengers.
